Sandra,

Try picking up the easy dresden tool - it really simplifies the process. The angle uses 20 wedges per plate (though it has the pointed corners instead of the rounded).

for a regular dresden 20 plates is great but for a dresden kaleidoscope you need to have a wider blade so I like 10 blades as it gives a good amt of pattern to create the kaleidoscope effect.

I did a very simple tutorial as I wrote an ebook on this and can't give out too much info that is in the book.
