These are my 2nd and 3rd projects. I didn't know what I was doing when I made the fish table topper, but it worked out anyway. Couldn't seem to find any patterns I liked for design...so I came up with my own.
I think I like the dolphins best.

Do you have a pattern for the oval placemats? I would love to give 'em a go myself.
I like the dolphin table runner design as well. Where did you find these or did you draft a pattern yourself?

I came up with the pattern myself based on what I wanted.
It's easier to just tape paper together. Then draw a rectangle depending on the size you want the placemat. I used about 18x13. Then I took a dinner plate and rouned off one of the corners with a pencil. Folded the paper in quarters and cut the pencil mark...that cuts all 4 rounded corners equally at the same time.

As for the design of the table topper, It's just something I drafted. I started out with 3 10" squares and used PaintShop Pro (my graphics program) to fill in squares and triangles in all different ways. I Scanned all the material I wanted to use, and used those images to fill in different sections. The program sure made designing a lot easier.

Did I miss something? All I saw were whales and fish?

Do, you didn't miss anything. I was corrected by a friends...they are whales, not dolphins. But my new daughter-in-law will like them as as well.

I just love the dolphin material, very soothing and dramatic and I'd love to see an entire quilt using some of that material. What wonderful gifts for a wedding to be used for years. Great job.
