Beautiful work! Babe no idea what roving and wet felting is, but the results are wonderful.

No, I didn't dye it. We have a lovely little yarn shop in town and she has the best roving ever. All dyed and ready to use. Some of this is Merlino wool roving, so soft and fun to work with.

Roving is the wool after it has been sheared from the sheep, cleaned and carded. Wet felting is taking that fuzzy wool and laying it down on a flat surface, wetting it with warm soapy water and adding friction which turns it in to felt. It is quite a process, simple but a little messy. I will be putting up a blog post soon to show how I did this but you can research it on line. Many ways to wet-felt the roving.

That is just stunning! I love the little details like the reflection of clouds in the water, and the shadows of the grasses. You must have some real artistic talent to create something this beautiful on a first try with a new technique. I'm absolutely blown away!
