How special Donna, Melissa looks so pleased with the quilt. I am assuming the quilt is for her. What a great experience for you two. Hoping there will be many more Mother/ Daughter quilts made in the future. Perhaps she can help you with chosing colors for a new one and also with her method of helping you sew it up. How exciting that she is interested in helping. Thanks for sharing.

What a happy story, and she looks so radiant with that big smile.

Your story makes my heart sing. I have 2 autistic grandsons - ages 12 and 14. Milestones like your daughter's are far apart and breathtaking.

What a sweet story, and what a gift to you and to Melissa. She looks as pleased as puddin'. Is it going to be her quilt? I'll bet she would love that, from that proud smile on her face!

Thank you so very much for sharing this wonderful moment with all of us. I hope this is only the first of many projects you can share and that each future one brings you both as much joy and pride as this one has done.

Thank you for sharing your story about your daughter helping with the quilt. It touched my heart and brought "happy" tears to my eyes. I have worked with special ed. students for years and love to hear about their little triumphs.

I am so happy for you and Melissa! What a wonderful step forward! I hope her interest continues. Quilting is a very repetitive procedure. Maybe this is the perfect creative outlet for her and what a wonderful joy for you to do it together.
