Mountain Pathways
I've been planning this quilt for about 17 years, and it's finally finished -- except for the binding. I finished quilting it tonight!
When we lived in California, 17 years ago, metallic fabrics were very popular. Then we moved to Utah, and there wasn't any to be found. I had bought some beautiful African prints with metallic accents, and developed the pattern. Then I begged the manager at the store where I work to get some, and she always said, no. Now I'm the manager, and I ordered the Morris Holiday fabrics, just for this quilt. It's the perfect fabric!
In July, I asked for opinions about the black fabric that was in the big triangles. Most said to add more black. I left it on my design wall for a few days and finally figured out that the black and white became the design that you saw. The beautiful fabric just got lost. So I made the background all white. I'd also like to make it with an all black background.

Your quilt is gorgeous. I saw that fabric line in a quilt store last week.....and the fabric line was stunning whether you like metallics or not, I had to stop and stare and chat with the owner about the line. Your choice of pattern and quilting shows off its true beauty. Congrats.
