Default Music quilt for christmas

Good Morning, Well it is cold here in Nebraska and I just finished a quilt for a Christmas gift. Hoping that my SIL can fit it into her quilting schedule. My daughter sent me her favorite music quotes and I had sewnsewer2 embroider them for me. I will never use Kona black again. Raveled something terrible. I have just a yard left so will use it up on something mundane! LOL! Hope you enjoy it and constructive critiques welcome. Every quilt is a learning process and this uneven layout was out of my comfort zone for sure. But she is done.

Good morning Dakotamaid. It is cold here too. Your quilt is absolutely beautiful! I love your piano key border. It is perfect for this quilt! Your DD is a very lucky young woman.

BTW I know what you mean about the Kona cotton fraying. It seems like it is a slightly looser weave than some others. When I had to use it, I decided to cut my strips just slightly off the true grain. It helped a bit.

Awesome quilt! I have a pianist in my family I want to make a quilt for. Need to remember the piano keys for.

Awesome quilt. I too love that piano key border. Hmmm, I haven't had trouble with Kona but I am a prewasher so I wonder if the prewashing shrinks it up a bit and tightens that weave? I found the Kona to be less reavely than Moda Bella Solids. I think it has a slightly heavier hand too but I use them both interchangebly.
