    Must Love Dogs

This is from the pattern Let Sleeping Dogs Lie. I drew off some additional dogs, painted eyes on, and made it in bright colors.

It took a long time because I was "helped" by 4 male black lab puppies I offered to foster for the local shelter. I got them when they were 3 1/2 weeks and they are now 12 weeks old. They were part of a litter of 13 dumped out in a laundry basket when the shelter was closed. I haven't been able to find homes for any of them so I guess they are my babes forever.

Cute quilt, you have my dog of choice (cattle dogs) on there so I like it alot. Your pups are cute. Good job on the fostering. welcome to the foster failure club (I have 2). When the time is right they will find their forever homes, sometimes it just takes alittle time.

That is just adorable! Every variation I have seen of this type of pattern (cats, elephants, etc) has been just adorable - but being a poodle owner, I just love this.
    You did a fabulous job

Love your quilt. I've never seen it with anything but cats - also very cute, but I'm a dog person. Good for you taking those little black waifs in. I hope you find homes for some of them - 4 black labs is a lot!!

Great quilt! And bless you for offering to foster such young puppies and now keeping them. There are so many unwanted dogs out there anymore. We have two from a local rescue group. So sad but so good of you to save them. They sure look happy!!!

Love the quilt ... so creative! That many dogs (on the quilt) I can handle, but 4 mixed lab puppies, I'm not sure. Congratulations on finishing the quilt ... good luck with your puppies.

Your quilt is spectacular! Your puppies are very cute too. Why don't people get their animals fixed if they don't want puppies?

This is a fabulous quilt! And you're a fabulous soul for helping with the dog over-population problem. I wish I had the health & patience to take in fosters, but *sigh* I don't at this point in time. So I try to do my part by supporting local rescue groups & of course, adopting from them (I'm sure you're all tired of hearing first about Yankee & now that he's over the Rainbow Bridge, my new baby, Leo, who's originally from down in yor neck of the woods). What's that saying? "Rescued is my favorite breed".

Love your quilt but love your puppies even more!! Gorgeous little fellas! Love the wading pool! How could anyone just abandon them just like that? I'd like to think that their personal circumstances made them desperate enough to do that and that they were not being intentionally cruel. So good of you to take them in. Lovely pups! I have a golden lab and she's such a darling. She twists me round her little paw with her adorable face. I bet they do the same to you too! Best wishes.

I love this quilt. I have some grandsons who would probably just adore a cute quilt like this one. As far as the puppies go, god bless you for loving and caring for them. Had you thought of contacting Pheasants forever to see if they might have advertising access for giving away these pups? Labradors are very favored pheasant hunting dogs and most have very loving homes and special care and training. It's worth a shot.
