Default My 1st quilt

My Aunt got me into quilting when my brother was dying from cancer. She insisted it was therapeutic...Well I still don't know about that but I do enjoy it. This is the quilt I made Jamie at the bottom left corner is the little ladybug that I have tattooed on my foot for him. My Aunt said you need to name your quilts so I called it pain (pain in the ?ss) He got the biggest kick out of that. The colors are reds and tan for head and neck cancer. I guess this one will always mean so much to me not only was it my 1st quilt and it was for my brother, but it has created a bond between my and and I that is so precious. She was with me every step of the way even 500 miles away. and no it is not easy to learn to quilt-sew over the phone. Never underestimate the power of thread

I am so sorry for your loss. Your brother clearly meant a lot to you, and it was good of your aunt to try to help. Your quilt is beautiful, and it seems to have a light shining from within.

For a first quilt, it is quite impressive. The colors are rich and very symbolic. What a wonderful gift for your brother. Every stitch represents a stitch of love for him.

Thank you it was made with a lot of love. I got it back from the lady that quilted it I cried and cried. It was horrific, took pictures and sent to my aunt. Lets just say she was not a happy camper. I mailed it to her and her quilt guild in Louisiana took every stitch out in 1 weekend then had it sent to Alabama to Joan Knight. It turned out perfect. The little perks of being her niece. All of which tickled Jamie to death to have all these ladies fussing over him

Stunning! Quilting is definitely my therapy- even if I am not sewing you can find me in my sewing room just looking at patterns and fabric and dreaming....
