I tried stitching the rug together first, thinking I would applique it on, but that didn't work very well. After a few rounds I ended up with ripples in the rug, and took out the stitches a couple of times. I ended up drawing my centre line, laying the first "round" of the rug on it, and zigzagging it down -- round and round, until it was the size I wanted. This worked really well!

Wow, is that an awesome quilt to explore. I looked and looked and looked at the blocks. Each one is just so fun. and that braided rug is too cute.

What a stunning and wonderful quilt!!! Did you have a pattern or picture for this or was this something you came up with on your own?
