It is a very special quilt. It was great you have taken such good care of it.

This pattern is also called Parasol Lady or Umbrella Girl in some places. Your quilt is very pretty.

I know we're suppose to love & use our quilts but I loved this one so much that I have never used it. As a child, I lived in Hawaii so didn't really use blankets or quilts and as an adult I've always had dogs so any quilts in our home are up on the wall, safe from the fur babies... That's why this one looks so good - just looked at, never used.

What a wonderful keepsake. How thoughtful of your grandmother to have one made for each of you. Enjoy it everytime you see it.

Beautiful! I remember a neighbor working on a quilt with this pattern when I was approx. six years old and living in the Texas panhandle.

Hi Shannon. The quilt is very lovely and has obviously been taken very good care of. Not sure what information you are looking for about it. If you're wondering if it was done a little earlier that 1969, it would be hard to tell. Some of the solid fabrics look to be a little older, like the 40s, but women have always saved scraps for quilting. I still use some feedsack fabrics that I have acquired. The pattern is very old, I do know. The important thing is that it is an heirlook for you and your family. Wish I had one, but no one in my family quilted that I know of, so the heirloom stuff starts with me. LOL.

How beautiful and what a treasure to have something your grandmother made.
