Last week I thought I would check Craigslist to see if I could find a good deal on a Singer Featherweight. None to be found. But this posting popped up and I replied right away and got this Singer 15-91 in cabinet for only $25.

It works but needs some cleaning, oiling and dh might have to replace some wiring but I'm over the moon. I've never had an old Singer machine. From everything I've read about this one, it is a 1952 model and a real workhorse, practically indestructible. I was going to buy a new inexpensive machine for my grands to quilt on when they visit, but this beats anything new in price AND quality.

I shoulda taken better pix, but you get the idea

Wonderful! I learned to sew on a machine just like yours and I still have it today. It belonged to my grandmother. It'll be perfect for your grandchildren!

What a buy! She is a real workhorse. I have a couple of these older machines & I so enjoy using them. They are music to my ears.

I have a Singer 15 just like this! Her name is "Matilda" and she is my favorite! Did you know you can drop the feed dogs on her? She does FM so beautifully, I just love this machine!
