Could you please post a tutorial on how you cut the d9p, I have never seen it come out this way and I really like it.

She sewed the 9 blocks : "The 9 patch went: blue, white, blue: white, blue, white."

After cutting the blocks down the middle and across the center, lay them out according to the color scheme coachmatthewsvhs used in her picture. Sew them back together. It's easy! Try it.

The block order was: blue, white blue
white, red, white
blue, white, blue

That is the same as I do mine but yours looks so different, I guess it is the color combination, very pretty.

it is a quilt as you go and the backing becomes the sashing ... very forgiving too. Great way to start FMQ!!!!

Interesting that you said it's for your daughter's ex...given your story I would have said my BFF's son is getting married. I might have to try that quilt as you go method. Your quilt is lovely!
