That is so wonderful you have the patience for that...I've always used my sewing "to get away" from the noise and chaos of 5 kids....it just dawned on me that my girls really don't know how to sew!
Joey did great on his points!

Last summer he made a doll quilt for the Kids' Doll Quilt swap and he used my Confusion technique.(crazy quilting). But he didn't have to learn to do straight seams so this time he had to learn some basics.
Well today he wanted to make a pillow for his mom. so he did his first HSTs and made 4 into a quilt block. Today was the first time he used my new Brother and he got used to it really quickly. He loved all the differant stitches it can do.
He learned to make HSTs Grandma Rhonda's way and he did it all on his own with me just talking him through it.
He was a little nervous of the speed of the machine but after some play using copy paper and then about 4 practice runs on fabric he had a feel for the machine.
I heard statements like Quilting is in my BLOOD! and Sewing machines are addictive man!!! LOL
He played on my sewing machine all afternoon and never got bored. This from a kid with ADHD and a brain that never stops ticking and searching for new things. He has the attention span of a gnat some days. But he was enthralled with sewing. When I insisted he take a break because I had to deal with his brother or other things and couldn't tell him what to do next he didn't want to stop.
He went on to make a bookmark from two pieces of fabric after he was done with the pillow. He loved it!
Another one is addicted to quilting!!! He is thinking he will be a scientist with a quilting addiction!!

Rachel(his sister 8) came just before supper and she wanted to stuff something when Joey was stuffing his pillow. So I sewed up a heart and let her stuff that. She had fun with it.
