    My Donation Quilt

Tomorrow I am going to the Martelli Enterprises Christmas Open House. I sent and email to get information about the event and they asked if I could make a lap quilt for a teen. I was tickled to be able to make this quilt in such a short time. I am just beginning my quilting journey. I have made 2 quilts in the last 4 months. I still haven't posted pictures of the first quilt but will as soon as someone tall enough holds it up for me. The donation quilt cost me $9. That is what I paid for the jelly roll at Tuesday morning. I pieced my warm and natural batting and used donated fabric from my stash for the borders and backing. The raspberry polka dots is left over from my first quilt.

Very pretty quilt... did you quilt it as you go? I have a sister that would LOVE this... she's a pastel girl.
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours!

This isn't a quilt as you go. Tell your sister to go to YouTube and look for "jelly roll races." In the race, they use 2 identical jelly rolls. Since I only had one, I use borders to make the lap quilt larger. It is almost a twin size. Just perfect to cozy up in a read or watch TV.

Really nice job. Such a pretty girly quilt.
No matter how tough life is, it sure beats the alternative.

    Fayzer,

What a great quilt. It's so cheery. Any girl will love that. Don't you just love the fabulous deals that Tuesday Morning sometimes has. Love your quilting.

Thank you for all of your kind comments. When I turned in the quilt to Martelli Enterprises they gave me two packages of 5 replacement rotary butter blades for a total of 10 blades. Bingo! I did not expect that. I was so excited as I had planned to buy their erognomically designed cutter while I was there. Talk about excited! All their fabrics were $5 a yard and all notions were 25% off. It was well worth my time and effort.
