    Thank you everyone. I hand stitched the flaps down on the inside. That took me more time than putting the entire project together. It is a great way to use your scraps. I started with a 15" square. I used batting, but I will use a stiffer product next time. I'll try a medium weight Timtex type product next. Lots of gifts this season will be housed by these boxes. The ideas are limitless.

    I like you idea of filling them with goodies. My granddaughters love little boxes such as these for storing misc. stuff in. Think I need to make a few for them for Christmas and filling them will be just as much fun as making them. Thanks for sharing.

    Beautiful basket...esp. since you used plaid..one of my favorites.
    Did you sew 3" corners? Also, you stated you hand stitched the inside flaps down..wow..can't even see that.
    Is there any way you could take a pic. showing the whole inside so I can see a better pic of it. I am a visual person.
    You can tell me how to do it...but need lots of pictures
