My fickled quilt
#23
A few months ago I set out to make a double wedding ring quilt. After making several of the arches and trying unsuccessfully to make them look right I decided to use the arches around some stars. After making several of the circled stars things still looked a little off. So I made some stars without the rings and once again I wasn't happy with it. I looked through a lot of my quilting books and found the little appliqued bird squares and the quilt came to life. It knew what it needed all the time, it just took me a while to catch on, lol.

This is one stunning quilt. You mastered your whole circles beautifully. I have made 6 DWR quilts and I so understand the frustration with the arches. The can still get to me when I start a new quilt. I love the applique to me you are a master. This is going to be the gift that will always be treasured.

You did a fantastic job!! Thank you for sharing your creative process in making this terrific quilt! Great design! Love how you combined the different patterns and the applique.
Did you use paper piecing or templates to make your stars? What size are your blocks?
