Thanks everyone. It is so encouraging to hear the positive feedback, just what I needed at this point!

The overall design was something that I drew out first. I basically drew the colors I wanted and the layout and then bought all of the fabric in one fell swoop. Piecing was done intuitively. There isn't too much detail in the piecing, which is probably why I was able to actually finish the thing. :P The entire back is pieced as well with a little bit of similar patchwork thrown in.

When I brought it to the longarm person, I couldn't find a pattern that I liked. I did like the meandering, freehand looping styles but I wanted it to be geometric. We worked out the squares and I'm really pleased with how it turned out! It was a really great experience. Definitely something that I want to continue developing.

Your quilt is beautiful! Isn't it amazing how a good longarm quilter can bring out the beauty in your work?

Wow! That is very sophisticated looking! Your photo of the quilt on the bed was so gorgeous I thought at first it was a picture out of a magazine. :-o .

Haha. I like to take photographs too, which definitely helps out in instances like this. I'm sure the quilt would be a little more boring if it weren't in front of that fantastic window, which is the whole reason I chose this apartment in the first place! The lighting is amazing in there.

Wow. I love it. The quilting is a fabulous choice. The quilt is so simple, yet stunning in it's simplicity.
