Default My first Bernina

I am the lucky new owner of my first Bernina 1130. She is from the mid 80's. I am anxious to start sewing with her! Was lucky to get her for $25.00 and an Bernette 234 serger for $40. I have no clue on how to operate a serger, but I'm anxious to give it a try! Bringing them to be freshened up later today!

I love my Bernina which is from about 2000. I'm sure you will love yours as well.

Lucky you, I was just thinking that I really want to get a serger as well although like you I haven't got a clue on how to use it.

Lucky you. $25.00. I just bought one at the sewing and vacuum store for $700.00. Oh well, congratulations!

Congrats on your 1130! That was my very first Bernina and I loved it! Loved it so much I wore down the metal! A great, great machine. Have fun!

Be patient. My father-in-law bought me a brand new in 1988 as a surprise and took me a good while to get the hang of it. But I sewed with it through 3 kids, gymnastics, jammies, kids shorts and t-shirts and ice skating outfits plus jackets for me and my sister. Take your time to learn how it works and make sure it is UN-interrupted time at the beginning to learn it. Have fun.
