I'm so proud of myself! (I know it's pathetic, LOL)... So I finally got up the nerve after all the flipping years to attempt paper piecing. All the encouragement and "know how" came from KellyPA on the boards here...

While we were in the chat room about a week ago we were all talking about paper piecing briefly and I had expressed that I this complete fear of it and its always been so complicated for me to follow (even moreso thanks to a Fons and Porter Episode). So I swore it off completely. Well Kelly persuaded me to check out a video she made that completely got my brain to absorb the concept, and that big boost along with a bit more reading - I finally decided to jump in and give it a go.

I decided to go old school on my Valentines Day cards this year and do something a tad more evolved than a throwback from 3rd grade art class that didn't require red construction paper and paper doilies, LOL. This is what my efforts came up with - it's a Valentines Day Heart block (a freebie design from Carol Doak) that I will be using in a homemade windowed card that I make of assorted cardstocks and ribbon for embellishment. I'l probably be making about 6 of them.

After finishing it I realized that a whole lot more opportunities are available to me now that I'm willing to paper piece, and I'm really excited even more about quilting than I was before! So for anyone else out there one the fence about it - let me tell you, if I did it - so can you!!!

Explosive blessings, abundance and inspiration to you all!

I was very afraid of PP as well. Didn't think I would ever understand the concept at all. Glad I tried it though and I know you are too. Opens up a whole new way for us to piece!!

I hear you, I finally tried it last week and discovered how easy it is once you get the concept down, and the points are always perfect. Really fun to do. DOn't be afraid to try it
