My First Free Motion!!

When you have your quilt sandwich pinned together or tacked together every four inches, you can start anywhere you want. If there is excess in a block, you keep it in that block. I like to start on the sides to that I can then cut away excess batting and backing. I need it to hold on to while quilting the edges.
I love free motion. You should be very proud of yours. It is definitely practice, practice, practice.

WOW! That's great advice! I'll try today with the next carpet!
