Great points! And your sashing looks very rectangular (mine always starts curving in various directions... of its own accord, not because I sew or iron it weird :D). Love the colors

Melhuff--I started with 5" squares and ended up with a finished block of 8.75", I used 2" strips for sashing, 1.5" border and outer border of 3.5". The finished size is about 40" X 60" ideal size for a lap quilt.
