    My first post.... Safari quilt

I finished this up last weekend, it is ready to go to the quilters.... I bought a zebra skin minky print for the backing.

Welcome to the board from a California gal. Your quilt is gorgeous. I can just imagine how soft the backing is.

Animal prints, my favorites. Love what you did with them.

Someday I hope to take the time to make an animal print quilt for me.

How cool is that! Great job. I like the way the animal fabric looks like pictures laid atop the quilt. They really look prominent. Very cool.

I love it! I agree...zebra minkie will make the perfect backing for this one. Those jungle prints are great.

Thank you for all of the complements! For those interested the pattern is the BQ quilt pattern from Maple Island. It is really easy - I think the hardest part was selecting the fabric. I can't wait to have it quilted and give it to my friend

LOL - that rug is lovely. It is a Kandinsky style wool rug that I bought about 7 years ago from what was Home Expo. it was part of their Guggenheim collection. Very abstract

The pattern just shows BQ - no number.

Gorgeous quilt! Gotta love the BQ patterns, they are so great for showing off beautiful fabric like your animal fabric. Speaking of that, can you tell us what fabric line it is. The animals are so crisp and clear I just can't get over the gorillas! Thanks for sharing and welcome from Xenia, Ohio!!

I believe the gorillas and the tigers are Elizabeth Studios; I think the running Cheetahs and at least two other scenes were from Timeless Treasure African Safari, the Giraffes and Zebra prints were from Fabriquilt. It took me some time to collect them all, mostly ordered via the internet.
