It even has a zipper in it and it WORKS! The directions were easy enough that I managed to figure it out. I have not sewn a zipper before and I am new at sewing overall!

Nice job. I've been sewing for centuries and I've never tried the purses - let alone one with a zipper. Congratulations. And it looks great, too.

    Blessings,
    Ruth

Good job! I've been wanting to make a purse, and like the Bow Tucks purse everyone else has been making, but I'm really paranoid about using a purse with an open top. I only use purses that zip closed. This one looks perfect for my needs.

Was the zipper easy on this? I really love this bag but shy away from zippers.

yes the zipper was much easier then I thought. I read that her instructions for the zipper was detailed and easy and it was. This was pretty easy to make overall. It got sort of thick in sewing with the batting and the interfacing but otherwise it was not too hard at all. I am by no means experienced at sewing.

It looks wonderful! Great accomplishment for you. Good job! I am in the same category as you, new to sewing overall an never did a zipper, maybe I can try this one too. I just did the bow tucks a couple of days ago and it worked, felt pretty accomplished :D I also love the fabrics you used.
