Wow! You are doing great for a first quilt...mine was a super simple little lap quilt.

I agree that you should "Fix" the pictured square to try to save the block size as much as you can.

My daughter sews for 4-H contests and her mantra is: This is going to look so great when it's done...this is going to look so great when it's done...

Don't despair: It's going to look so great when it's done.

If your machine has embroidery stitches you could stitch over the seams to add a little decoration to it. I think your doing a good job, just keep with it. You've received a lot of sound advice on how to keep going and have it turn out right. i like the idea of sashing and maybe a border

I think we can all be a beginner if it's something new! I have never made one like yours and I think you are doing a super job. I agree sashing and a border would be a good thing if you need to enlarge it a bit if you run out of scraps.

Bet she gets that positive attitude from her mom.

Thank you all so much! I really had no idea of the size of this forum. Wow! You are all great. Really appreciate the encouragement!

JKMom, I'm going to need that mantra...I'm borrowing it!

Didn't get to work on it yesterday. I wish I could stay home with it today! Hopefully will get a little accomplished this evening. I will definitely be back to post progress and ask questions.

Molly...you are doing fine!!! You just remember the more you do the better you get and more developed your skills are!!! If you do this well now...just think how GREAT you will be down the road with experience. We all started with a "first"! My first was some 45 to 50 years ago. JUST DON'T GIVE UP...YOU WILL BE GREAT ONE DAY.

Once all the blocks are squared up and put together that is going to be a cute quilt. I think you are doing great. Keep it up.
