Such a beautiful story and what lovely quilts. I love how you incorporated the blocks into the quilts. Something that family will cherish forever.

Welcome from VA

Dear forgivenmom,

That is a beautiful story and your quilts are wonderful....love every one of them. My grandmother did embroidery and tatting. As a little girl I learned embroidery from her...but never got as good at it...but I could never learn tatting.

She used to make everyone emb. pillowcases with tatted edges. After she died, many of the pillowcases were falling apart. I collected them all and used any good parts of the embroidery and picked the tatting from the edges. I made everyone in the family a Christmas ornament for their tree. They were a huge hit. I wish I could have something she embroidered to make into a quilt.

Thanks for sharing the story and pictures, it brought back wonderful memories.

Margie :)
