Ther was no piece of fabric in Terre Haute, Indiana that was safe from the scissors wielded by these ladies. I am sure they made 35 or 40 of them. My three sons used theirs to shreds! Such fond memories. That is what quilts are, aren't they-memory makers.
Loved your story. I think it is great when folks can have memories built around quilts. We need to hear more of them and hopefully with all the quilters now days, there can be books written about them years from now. Thanks for sharing your story!

MargieD...You would not go crazy. That is the beauty of the pattern. The strips are already lined up because you use a tubular method and then just sew the strips in the order which they go, ripping out different seams. I want to make one in miniature Just to get the patten implanted in my brain.

And well you should be proud! It's lovely. I'm hoping to make one one day.

I lovelovelove Trip Around the World, but being precision challenged, I can't seem to make them work. Congrats to you.

Love TATW. It was my first quilt to make when 1st married 43 years ago. That was before quilting lessons and modern cutting tools. Someday I'll get brave enough to learn how to post pictures.

It's a beautiful quilt, can't say I've seen too many TATW quilts done with rectangles, nicely done.
