My First Turned-Edge Applique Block

My First Turned-Edge Applique Block
I watched a video class on making turned-edge applique with freezer paper. I've never tried any turned-edge applique technique before. It looked interesting so I thought I would try it out as the center medallion of my bedspread. I'm recreating the center medallion of my current worn-out bedspread. The new bedspread will use some of the same fabrics as my window curtains that I just made. Matchy matchy!
There was a steep learning curve on getting the pattern created from my old bedspread and the whole turned-edge applique concept. I've always had a mental block about it. So instead of doing a simple 8" block to try out the technique I made this medallion that will finish at 38 inches x 38 inches! This was hard but alot of fun.
The first picture is the medallion I just made and the second picture is from my old bedspread.
