I think that's a fantastic idea and I understand. I have one grandchild and I've done the same for him. I intend to make some baby quilts to put in his "HOPE" chest as well. My daughter thinks I'm nuts, but Adam thinks it's wonderful and he's only 7, but loves Grandma's quilts.

The last words my Mother said to my brother was to tell him that the quilts in the closet belonged to his boys who were not yet married. She kept several quilts in the closet for nieces & nephews. She didn't send them when they got married she saved them for when they came to visit. If the didn't visit they didn't get quilts.

I think this is a great idea, keep going with it. Very pretty quilt for a lucky grandchild. I am sure they will treasure it.

Beautiful quilt!!!! My mom did the same thing....she made all of our quilts when we got married (30 years ago), and then made one for each of our children......her grandchildren (13 in all) They are all saved away in a closet for when they get married......and now my daughter (her grandchild no. 2) will get hers soon....She even has notes on them, in case something happens to her before they all get married......
