If you don't want to eyeball it, then separate your strips in 3 piles: longest, med. and short ones. Lay the strips on top of your template to make sure your base is all covered and then sew them together. Voila! It was fun and easy strip piecing these! It's a no brainer, non-thinking task. The 2nd pic turned out dark. I found 2 to give you an idea. I quickly threw these on the design wall. Will take better pics in the morning. The first pic is a good example of putting together really busy fabrics in your block; the busier, the better. Thank you, Janet!!

I love the look of the top picture. you did a great job. had you given any thought to alternating the blocks vertical and horizontal? just a thought. i think the black background blocks will work great
