    Yes it is assembled or fused together on the parchment paper with the pattern underneath for placement. I use Mettler and match the thread. I can either satin stitch it to the stiffener and then put it onto a background or I can satin stitch directly to the background. Depends on the size and complexity. This one is pretty simple so I'll do it to a background then build the rest of the quilt.

    So do you have the large piece and then paper with the smaller piece on top and the paper stays in?
