Default My husband's QOV

My husband received this today from the Quilts of Valor group! (see the date) They even made a pillowcase to match or to store the quilt in, when not in use.
Isn't the piecing of the stars and the quilting gorgeous! I spoke to the LA quilter and she said she had a 12 foot frame with a 20 something inch Handiquilter machine.
My husband was very touched and his voice was husky with emotion, when he tried to speak of his service and thank the kind ladies who made this possible. One of our daughters commented that her Daddy was moved and didn't speak much. I do know he went around afterwards and thanked the ladies personally though.
I think it's about 15 women in this chapter. I made each a gift, with the initials of QOV, on them. I gave them all to the only quilter I knew, Martha. After the ceremony Martha gave them out and the ladies came to thank me. It wasn't much, but I wanted them to know how much we appreciated their work and support, of our Veterans.

What a wonderful quilt. I like the use of the flag material for the strips.

I'm sure the quilters were equally moved by his reaction to the gift. How precious to witness that, I'm sure. Thank your husband for his service, and thank you for supporting and sacrificing as well.
