The fabric below the "shelf" is all the same size. I'm thinking I should have quilted some thread in there to get the effect?

You may have lost the effect you were looking for but it is so cute who cares? I love those whimsical animals. They are great. Great quilt

The attic windows effect might be gone, but I see typewriter keys. OR I guess I should say keyboard keys. In this generation, no one has ever heard of a typewriter!!

The little critters are adorable, and the quilt is just too much fun!
