Yes, I did. It took two tries, though. This quilt was a first for a whole number of things: swirly quilting, embroidery, applique, and batik + dying (online tutorials are great!). Laura

About batik, did you get a kit for it, or DIY?

It was a DIY... I got the beeswax at the art supply shop and ordered the dyes and tjanting tool from an online supplier. I used rubber bands to hold the fabric bunched together to give a mottled effect. I ironed out as much of the wax as possible afterwards, but eventually had to have it dry cleaned.

I tried boiling the first attempt and got all sorts of waxy scum in the pot. Ruined everything.. I don't recommend it, but I probably did something wrong.. I don't know.
