Cathy, absolutely beautiful - what size hexagons did you use and what is the pattern for the second quilt? Love them both - Do you do the English Paperpiecing on your hexagons or just template and turn under as you go?

Thank you for sharing.

my template is 4 inches. I sew the front sides together and then finger press. This gives them a 1/4 inch seam. Eventually there will be a full-queen size quilt top. Takes a while. I have no idea how to paper piece. I tried it once, hated the result, must have done something terribly wrong. Threw it out, so you know it was bad.
The round one is done on machine for the top. Then hand quilted the backing. I truly don't like machine quilting for me. I have seen some great results from others. Can't match points.

Oh No I am far from a master quilter. I can only make hexagon quilts by hand. I have the templates to make other patterns but cannot figure them out. So I end up back to the hexagon patterns again.
By the way, I love yours in your picture. I would love to be able to make a pattern like that and have it turn out.

Cathy, both of your quilts are gorgeous. I've never seen a bargello done in the round, that is unique.

the trick is to find all the different fabrics. If I remember it right it takes 27 different ones. Then figure out what will look good next to the next.
The search and layout took longer to do than the sewing.

I too have never seen a round quilt but that one is beautiful! Both are beautiful! I love bargello's and the hexagon one is fantastic. Great work!
