My new sewing machine that hubby got me for my bday. Brother PQ1500, got it for $300 used.

It also cost me a finger piercing. While checking out the machine, the lady's 4 yr old hit the controller foot and put the needle through my finger (yes, all the way through). My bad for having my finger under the presser foot, but the lady had asked me what the feed dog level switch was for.

Poor little girl, she ran away and hid in her room. She came back out after I cleaned it up and showed her I was okay. I'd hate to scare a child from ever going near a sewing machine again. So now I am a christened quilter.

I think my favorite part of the machine is the thread cutter. So cool. No more long strings, no more leaders and enders. Now I can create a scrappy quilt with some planning instead of just with my left overs.

Have fun with your new machine. I hope the little girl doesn't feel to bad. I'm sure it was an accident to hurt you.

Congratulations on the machine. Isn't it exciting? I cringe to think of your poor finger.

Well, $300 is a good deal! Can I get that deal on a machine if I sew through my finger? 'Cause I'll head for my Bernina dealer and spill some blood on an 830!

I have that machine too! You are going to love it. Hope you got a walkting foot with it too. I also use it with a quilting frame. Does a good job - just don't have too much room for quilting towards the end of the quilt. You got a great deal!
