I agree that it's gorgeous. I really love it. But I have to tell you, I don't think a scrappy one will look like a hodge-podge. When you're done, post a picture so we can all tell you how great it is!

I have too and squares from both of you as well. I really like the border as well. I am making 9 patches randomly. Not sure how I will set them yet.
