What is 'craft board' and what do you like about the fabric as oppossed to just cotton to iron on?
I don't exactly know what craft board is, LOL. We went looking for a sheet of plywood to cut down but they were pretty rough and there would have been waste. Farther down the aisle there were these really nice boards with no knotholes that were the perfect size. Mine is 20 by 72 inches. The had bigger and smaller.

I like to use the reflective fabric because it helps heat up the bottom side of whatever I'm ironing and it doesn't stick so bad to adhesives. I love the fabric from Bo-Nash but it doesn't come big enough.

I sprayed the board with adhesive, stuck the batting to it, sprayed that layer with more adhesive and stuck another layer on. Then sprayed that and stuck the top fabric to it. Turned the whole thing over and stapled it around the edges. Creases smoothed out the first time I used it.

How tall is it? Taller than a regular ironing board? I do get tired of hunching over and messing my back and shoulders up.
I chose this one for it's height. We looked at some others that we would have needed to add feet to. This shelf is about 37 inches plus another inch for board and padding. Perfect for Jenni and I and we are both about 5'8".

I sure like your sturdy part. And just the right height for you. I am only 4'11", and all of them are too tall. Especially a counter height cutting table. grrrrrrrrrr

I found lots of short stuff! You should really look at shelving units or end tables even. I bet you could find something perfect.
