My progress so far on k3n's pattern, 13th Fandango
#1
I have been having a blast making this quilt. Thanks, k3n, for writing wonderful directions. I have pieced the blocks and sewn some of them together, but the top is not entirely sewn together yet because I want to do the applique while the pieces are small enough to manage (thanks to k3n for putting that in her directions!) You can tell it's not all sewn together, because the pieces aren't quite lined up on my design wall.
I haven't decided whether to do the applique from k3n's pattern, or choose different applique, or do some colorful quilting in the places where the applique is supposed to go. I'll probably go with applique - I'm thinking that some Jacobean flowers would look super there with my color scheme. I think I will probably add a narrow border in blue or green, then a slightly wider border in the soft yellow. I also think this would make a spectacular bed quilt by adding larger, fancier borders using the twisted log cabin and offset log cabin blocks...
