Thank you for all the lovely comments. I am really overwhelmed by them. I made this quilt as one of my first "real" quilts and didn't know enough not to put batting and a heavy flannel backing. It weighs a ton, but is very warm. The Garfield block was a T-shirt that I got when we were stationed in Florida. I didn't take to the climate there, hence the sentiment on the cartoon. Cheers, Pat

I am very sorry for your loss. Your quilt is a wonderful way of telling your husband's military history. It is a great heirloom for your family for years to come. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I hope it brought back lots of good memories for you.
