I am making a king size scrappy log cabin quilt for a friend. A guy friend that is like one of our other kids! He said he wanted a "messy" quilt. I knew he meant he wanted it scrappy.
Here are the blocks or some of them. I still haven't decided what kind of lay-out to use. But my question is I wonder if I used to many scraps! Maybe I shouldn't have used so many different fabrics!
What do you think...he is going to get it anyway but for my next scrappy quilt maybe I should not get so "messy"!

Remember it is not put together yet and will be 8 blocks across and 8 down. So this is just some of the blocks.

I saw a quilt made of scraps and they turned the squares around to form bigger squares, as in all the dark colour to the middle 4 squares making 1 big square, that way it mey not look so scrappy, mind you I love what you have done, I love the log cabin

I love it just the way it is. I love every square of it. It is a masterpiece. You are so talented. I am searching for a quilt pattern for my 26 year old son for Christmas and I think I have seen it in your quilt. Thank you.

i do not think you used too many scraps. it is going to be beautiful! and i'm sure he is going to think it is perfect! remember, charms quilts usually never repeat a fabric so actually have thousands of fabrics in a big one, yours is great with much variety. :)

No way!! NOT too many scraps!! It's gorgeous!!! Bravo to you--I LOVE it.

I made a floral log cabin that had almost 70 different fabrics--looked fine. ;)
