After I finished the quilt I made the mistake of getting my sister hooked on quilting. We went to Lancaster this summer and she bought fabrics for a quilt for her extra room. O.K. I made hers for her living room. When she completed it she decided she wanted it for her living room. I thought well you made it for her and it doesn't fit into my house so I'm still giving it to her. Several days before Christmas she said she was giving the one she made to her son for Christmas. Maybe a little birdie told her about mine. I doubt it but that made me happy. I gave her the quilt on Christmas Eve.
As for the perfection, even though I tend to strive for perfection I have found that in quilting I will never be perfect so I just decided to be happy with what I can achieve. This is my retirement dream and I intend to enjoy it, not stress over it. I have no plans on entering any into contests or my quilts becoming heirlooms. I want whoever I give one to love and enjoy it.

It looks lovely, no wonder your sister loves it.
Triangle aren't that difficult, just cut squares about 3/8" larger than what the triangle is supposed to be. Place two face to face, mark a line from one corner to the opposite corner, sew 1/4" from your line on both sides. Then cut on the line and press open. Voila!!! Easy as a Mrs. Smith's pie.
BTW, I used to hate triangles too.
