I had questions about stars and did a practice block. I think it turned out ok for my first try. Not perfect, but good. So my pic is two of my blocks with the batik teddys that will be whole blocks between.

This will be a baby gift for my nephew and his wife's new baby girl.

What do you think?

Your fabrics are lovely, and Ohio Star is one of my favorite blocks. This will be a beautiful quilt for a beautiful little girl. Be sure to post pics when it's all done!

Oh yeah...thats one of my favorite stars too. It is rather hard for me to master sometimes though. Yours look great! I love your fabric choices for that baby quilt!

Actually, I accidentally purchased two fat quarters of the teddy batiks not realizing that they were teddys. I got them home and thought, what am I going to do with these?? I was going to exchange them, but didn't. Then I found out that my nephew and his wife were expecting and they found out that it was a girl, so it worked out perfectly.

I was at the quilt shop to get more teddy fabric and the owner suggested that I do stars. I thoutht that was a great idea, because baby's mom is into stars, and has them tatooed many times on her body. No necessarily the same star, but I thought this would work. I am looking for a batik that I can use for a narrow border to match the purple/blue that you see to the right side. and then a wider border of teddys.

That's so pretty and will make a beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see the end result.
