    I just made two potholders, pieced on both sides using the string block method. I like your method too. It looks like you started in the middle with the small stuff and built out from there. I started with the long strips across the diagonal of the base block and then each strip became shorter as I approached the corner.

    I made a string quilt like that too, I used all autumn colors for the strings and the center string in each block is solid black. It's queen sized, I use it on our bed starting in september. I love all kinds of scrap quilts, my motto is "the more fabrics, the merrier"
