I'm glad you all like this thread catcher. There are numerous free online thread catcher patterns but this free one is simple and the fact that it is sewed from 2.5 inch strips it adds to its form/stability.

If you don't have a thread catcher such as this, use a scrap of fleece. The thread sticks and you can take it off later with a piece of tape and use again, or if you have lots of fleece scraps, just throw it away when it gets full. I just tuck mine under the butt of the sewing machine os it stays in place.
