My Twister in progress
#31
AlaskaSunshine, I tried a quilt like that as well, and I got so very confused. This pattern with the Twister templates is so much more easy to construct. The pictures I posted with the smaller border is basically the same as the larger size. If you look at the pictures I posted, you can see the template is placed on the seamlines and cut akilter, not on the threadlines. This means you are sewing on the bias, and you must be careful when sewing the final borders, or you will have waves. (Ask me how I know!) Someone else posted better pictures of Twister construction.
Search for Twister and I think it will make more sense.
I have pieced two tops and plan to do more. I have been cutting 10 inch squares from a wide variety of fun fabrics to do another one!

So do u sew 4 10" blocks together in a four patch? Then cut it with a ruler. Do I need a special ruler? I am SOOOOO glad I am not the only one that had difficulty with that horrid one I tried. I was a wreck and pitched it. Even my husband hated tolooks of it

I sewed 6 rows across and 8 rows down, if I remember correctly to get the size I wanted. ( You lose some of the length and width because of the way you cut the template out). Then I added a border all the way around. Then I cut out the individual blocks and placed them so I could sew them together correctly.
