Oh it is much much fun. You were all right. It's down right addicting. I sew and sew and sew but, it is always a dress or a shirt or pajamas. Never something just fun. Always a labor of love. This is all for me. Well the first quilt is anyways  I went to a beginner quilt class 2 years ago and we made one block so now I am going it on my own. Here are the first two. What ya think. I now have 8 14" (finished)blocks done and am going to do solid blocks between them and then put the borders on and am going to make this one start to finish on my own. A great learning experience for sure. I have made several different blocks, all with the same fabric theme though.

    Bear Paw

    Dutchmen's Puzzle

and no I am not sharing this quilt with the cat or the dog.

I love the cat fabric. It is so playful! Are you doing a sampler...each block different that will separated by solid blocks. You've done a great job on these two. Can't wait to see some more. I'm glad you're getting to quilt some. It's nice, isn't it?

Nice work! It may be your first quilt, but I don't think you have to worry about messing it up.

ooooooh what adorable blocks!!! I made a cat lap quilt a few years ago. It still needs to be layered and quilted. but I received all these cute blocks from a Secret Sister I had at the time. She sent me all the remaining fabrics. I found a neat fabric that looked like fur to sew the blocks together. I then added a border of cat paws in two corners.. I am thinking of appliquing a couple mice in the other corners, or a ball of wool or something so it looks like a cat was running around the edge of the quilt playing!!!

Love the fabric you chose!!! How many blocks are you planning to make in total? It will make for an awesome quilt!
