Score is right! I'm glad you rescued it, even sometimes when we find old "cutter" quilts that are too far gone to use as a cover, I feel the threads talking to me, and I like to create something out of them to last longer, such as a pillow or decor like wall hangings or stuffed animals, cats, pigs, etc. I am making some stuffed bears for my grandkids out of their Poppy's old baby quilts as they are too tattered to pass on, at least they will have a piece of him to remember him by later.

I guess this could happen if you have no one to pass it on to. Otherwise, like you, I don't understand how something as preciouss as this could be sold, let alone sold so cheaply.

I, too, am sad that the woman would sell her grandmother's work, but delighted that you got it and will cherish it.

It does look to have some feed sack material. You got a real treasure.

I talked to an old guy today. After his wife died he told the kids to come get whatever they wanted. Sadly, they only took a few items. When he needed something to cover his table at the flea market he took one of the many quilts his wife had made. As soon as he put it on a table to hold his 'stuff' a lady offered him $100.00! He didn't have a clue.

I asked him if she had any fabric and he said, yes, but it's old!
I'm waiting for him to call me.

You Craftybear stole the words out of my mouth. I agree with that to honor the person who put in her effort. Her name and the year just like Picasso did on his artwork.

a great find, sad someone could sell her grandmothers quilts.

I had a huge collection of family quilts, I could never get rid of them. They will passed on to my grandbabies.

A great find for you! Enjoy
