With the sashing, this quilt has a good balance of light, compared to the dark/medium ... not too much light, just enough to add highlights. Can even throw in some animal prints, though I am not a big one for wild animals ... all that endangered species garbage sort of ticks me off ... well, more than sort of, but sort of will do fine for the moment <g>. I may lighten up a bit for the event ...
I love it!!! And the black sets it off great. the little blue squares just pop!
And that dog is too cute!! And he works for his supper!
So I haven't made this quilt yet, but when I do, I know there is a lot of help here when I get stuck!!! Thanks for posting the pictures and you look lovely standing there behind that quilt!

The black sashing really pops the quilt. Can't wait to see it quilted :)
Mine is still being quilted. I had a hold-up getting backing fabric, then needed thread (another trip to town) and am finally working on it. Not quite finished, but think I'll run out of time before it's done. Everything is going on hold around here while we entertain grandkids for a month.
I've used your idea, Cute, and have echo quilted the stars. Looks great!

It is a little more work as you have to cut and secure your ends. but ut us worth it.
I can't wait to see it, you will have to send out a reminder when you are done B Zang

Well, here it is. In my rush to get everything ready for the kidlets and finish the quilting, I didn't quilt quite so heavily as I had intended. It's in the dryer right now; hope it holds up (I'm pretty sure it will :) ).
My DH is planning to use it for laying out his bows on when he displays them for sale.

Maybe one day I'll re-do some parts of this!

THat is a terrific quilt, Barbara!
I wish I knew how to shop to get the lights like you have used.
I do know that your bright yellow is what inspired the bright yellow in the second quilt I did.
Your quilt will be fine.
I don't know where I got the idea for this block is "Hunter Star", because it is actually just an eight pointed star.

This is what the hunter star is, just in case you want to make it to go along with hubby's hunting theme? But, the bows will look good backdropped by your quilt ... big compliment to have hubby have a plan for your fine work!
Very pretty ... in case I didn't quite get that point across <g>
