You know, I really don't have anything to compare it to, since I've only ever had this machine. I can tell you that I watch Netflix on my Kindle Fire while I'm sewing, and I'm able to hear what they're saying on the shows without wearing headphones. Does that help? LOL

Oh, maybe this will help more... I did a search online for PQ1500S noise and found this review on Amazon:

"I have two ladyfriends who own this model, and they love it. My Viking Emerald was so noisy compared to theirs, and when I wound a bobbin on the Viking, it sounded like the space shuttle coming in for a landing. They love their machines, and don't ever seem to have any problems with them. Easy to clean and oil, no tension problems, and the pin-feed lets them sew on all kinds of fabrics. I finally decided to purchase a 1500, for free-motion quilting and piecing. Well, I am amazed at the difference!!! It's like magic. This 1500 feels like a limosine. And free-motions like a dream, and the free-motion foot is the best I've ever used. I was convinced of her value in less than a day -- quiet, accurate, and great free-motion - I've had her for three weeks now, and I'm completely delighted. The quality of the machine makes such a difference. She's built to last, and built for accuracy. I gladly give her five stars."

So I guess it's quieter than a Viking Emerald.

I pieced that very quilt in 2012 but it is languishing in my 'to be quilted pile'. After seeing yours I think I will move mine to the top of the pile. (as soon as I get my Christmas sewing done!!)

Your quilt is wonderful! It is as refreshing as "this morning's milk". And, PS, I have had my PQ1500s for about two years now and don't know what I did before I got her. Love it.

I think Frankie S. would be absolutely thrilled. Your quilt is stunning, and your quilting sets off the design perfectly. Well done and thanks for sharing the story.....just lovely.
