This is beautiful. If you are just plain tired of it, go with the suggestion of 9 inch dark all around it. It will make the center pop. Lay it out and see how it looks. In my mind it looks petty good. :)

However....I also like your narrow light blue and then dark blue...

Try all kinds of things. One will "speak to you," or at least that is the phrase my sister always uses at me. :)

My vote is for the darker border. Does not detract from the design!

Time to go with the borders now. They will give it a very polished look.

Don't get discouraged NOW, it's a beautiful start to a beautiful quilt. Set it aside for a while, it's worth finishing nicely not just to get finished.

I think C in the darker color to finish off the border would be nice.

Instead of making more blocks do the borders of light blue and dark blue. Very pretty quilt.

I love your quilt and think your third option is the way to go. Keep the lighter boarder narrower than the dark one. Well done.

I really like the third choice. Light narrow border then dark.

This looks so great. Sorry but you need to do the HST around the quilt. An 18inch border just wouldn't look right. I think you could use the light blue as a stop border and then go to the dark border, but stick to the darker colour for the HST. Maybe you need a break from it. Put it aside for a week or two before you tackle it again. It's going to be fantastic.

I would do a small(1") inner border and the dark outer border 4". :-)

Your quilt is BEAUTIFUL! My own choice would be the narrow light blue with a wider dark blue border, possibly narrower for the light, and wider for the dark.

I have learned from this board thad borders should just about always be dark. And I agree. The dark border frames the block better. It shows the block more than the border. See you soon. - maybe. How's the river?? is it behaving itself?? :?
